Why Appointments vs. Set Shop Hours?

I have chosen to change from set shop hours to personalized appointments with customers. 

I believe it allows more flexibility for the customer and also lets the customer know they

don't have to be rushed.  It allows for a more relaxed atmosphere.  Appointments can be made

even for just an estimate - there is no fee or any committment to a sale.  I want the customer to

feel comfortable and relaxed even if they decide just to think about their decision.  I like getting

to know my customers, rather than just someone who writes me a check.  If you have any questions
